Toulouse downplays interest in Aktai Abdullah

French side Toulouse FC have dismissed reports linking the club with a move for Egyptian attacker Aktai Abdullah in the current summer transfer window.

Reports went rife that the Ligue 1 outfit had submitted an official offer to sign the ENPPI SC striker following his impressive performances in the Egyptian Premier League last season.

However, Toulouse sporting director Victor Bezhani has strongly denied the rumours, insisting the French club has no interest in the player.

“What is being said about our interest in signing Aktai is a big lie. We are not interested in this player,” Bezhani said as quoted by Batolat.

The reports had suggested that Aktai Abdullah was attracting attention from clubs in the French league, while Egyptian giants Al Ahly SC are also believed to be monitoring the striker as they seek to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season.

Aktai is regarded as one of the standout young forwards in the Egyptian top flight after an impressive campaign with ENPPI. His performances earned him a place in Hossam Hassan’s preliminary squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup before he was eventually left out of the final selection for the tournament.
