Inácio Miguel on the radar of Raja Casablanca

Morocco giants Raja Casablanca has expressed interest in Kaizer Chiefs defender Inácio Miguel in the ongoing summer transfer window as the team seeks to bolster their squad.

As per reports, new coach Nasreddine Nabi is a huge admirer of the defender, having worked with him at Kaizer Chiefs.

Nabi only took over at Raja Casablanca last week after the club parted ways with former Simba SC coach Fadlu Davids, with the Moroccan side aiming to reset their ambitions after falling short of the league title.

Now, the Tunisian tactician is already shaping his squad for the new era—and one of his first targets is believed to be a player he previously helped bring to South Africa.

Miguel, who currently plays for Kaizer Chiefs, was signed from Angolan champions Petro de Luanda during Nabi’s tenure at the Soweto club. The defender arrived at Chiefs as part of Nabi’s recruitment plan, with the coach having strong belief in his defensive qualities and tactical discipline.

That trust now appears to be influencing Nabi’s transfer strategy once again, with reports suggesting he is keen to reunite with the Angolan international in Casablanca.

Miguel still has one year remaining on his contract with Chiefs, meaning any potential move would require Raja Casablanca to negotiate a transfer fee with the South African club. Chiefs are expected to carefully assess any approach, given the defender’s importance to their defensive structure.

The situation adds an intriguing twist to the upcoming transfer window, particularly with Nabi now managing in North Africa after his successful spell in the Betway Premiership.

At Kaizer Chiefs, Miguel has established himself as a reliable presence at the back, earning praise for his aerial strength, positioning, and composure under pressure. His familiarity with Nabi’s tactical system could make him an attractive option for Raja Casablanca as the coach looks to quickly implement his philosophy.

However, Chiefs are under no pressure to sell and are likely to weigh up both sporting and financial factors before making any decision.

With Nabi now shaping his squad in Morocco and Miguel still under contract in South Africa, the coming weeks could determine whether the defender follows his former coach once again—or remains a key figure in Chiefs’ long-term plans.
