Willy Boly leaves Nottingham Forest

Ivory Coast international defender Willy Boly will leave Nottingham Forest at the end of the month after the Premier League club confirmed his departure following the expiry of his contract.

Following the expiration of his contract, the Premier League outfit and Boly have decided to go their separate ways, bringing an end to a three-year spell at the City Ground.

The experienced centre-back joined Nottingham Forest in 2022 and played a key role during his time at the club, providing leadership and defensive stability whenever called upon.

However, with his contract set to expire on June 30, Forest have opted against offering the 34-year-old a new deal, paving the way for his departure as a free agent.

During his three seasons with the club, Boly made 47 appearances across all competitions, scoring two goals and registering one assist. His experience proved valuable both on and off the pitch as Forest battled to establish themselves in the Premier League.

The decision means the former Ivory Coast international is now free to explore new opportunities ahead of the 2026/27 season. Despite his advancing age, Boly remains an experienced defender with extensive top-flight experience in England and France, qualities that could attract interest from clubs seeking leadership and defensive depth.

His departure marks the end of a memorable chapter with Nottingham Forest, where he contributed to the club’s efforts to maintain its status in English football’s top division.

As Boly prepares for the next stage of his career, attention will now turn to where the veteran defender chooses to continue his playing journey.
