Kawkab Marrakech secured an impressive 2-0 victory over Raja Casablanca on Tuesday evening at the Grand Marrakech Stadium in the 23rd round of the Moroccan National Professional Football Championship.

Late Goals Seal Victory for Hosts

After a tightly contested encounter, Kawkab Marrakech broke the deadlock in the 78th minute when Hamza Al-Jannati converted a penalty to put the home side ahead.

The hosts then wrapped up the victory deep into stoppage time, with Saleh Al-Salami finding the net in the 90+1 minute to secure all three points.

Raja Reduced to Ten Men

Raja Casablanca’s hopes of mounting a comeback suffered a major setback in the 74th minute when defender Badr Banoun was shown a red card by referee Amin El Maataoui.

The dismissal left the visitors with ten men for the closing stages of the match and proved costly as Kawkab Marrakech capitalised on their numerical advantage.

Fadlu Davids Under Growing Pressure

The defeat has intensified speculation surrounding the future of Raja Casablanca head coach Fadlu Davids, with the South African manager now facing increased pressure following another disappointing result.

Raja were unable to respond after falling behind and ultimately left Marrakech empty-handed.

Impact on the League Table

The victory lifts Kawkab Marrakech to eighth place in the league standings with 30 points, providing a significant boost to their campaign.

Meanwhile, Raja Casablanca remain on 42 points and sit fifth in the table after failing to add to their tally in the latest round of fixtures.
