The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has announced several venue changes for the Round of 32 fixtures of the 2025/26 Throne Cup following concerns over stadium infrastructure and organisational standards.
According to the federation, inspections carried out ahead of the matches revealed that some designated host venues failed to meet the required technical and logistical conditions needed to stage official fixtures. As a result, a number of ties have been moved to alternative stadiums.
Key Throne Cup Fixtures Assigned New Venues
Under the new arrangements, the Moulay Hassan Stadium in Rabat will host the meeting between Rachad Bernoussi and Fath Union Sport.
The Grand Stadium of Tangier has also been selected to stage the highly anticipated encounter involving KAC Kenitra and Ittihad Tanger.
Elsewhere, Raja Beni Mellal’s clash against Wydad AC has been relocated to the Stade Mohammed V in Casablanca, while the Martyr Ahmed Choukri Stadium in Zemamra will host the fixture between Wydad El Serghini and Renaissance Zemamra.
FRMF Targets Professional Organisation Across Competitions
The FRMF stressed that the changes are necessary to guarantee that the competition is played under professional conditions while fully respecting the federation’s infrastructure and operational standards.
Moroccan football has undergone significant transformation in recent years through reforms introduced by the federation to improve professionalism, infrastructure, and organisational quality across domestic competitions.
These reforms have contributed to the continued rise of Morocco’s football ecosystem, with the country now widely regarded as one of the leading football nations on the African continent.
