Ivorian striker Elye Wahi has indicated that his spell at OGC Nice is likely to come to an end this summer despite rediscovering form during the second half of the Ligue 1 campaign.
The 23-year-old forward joined Nice on loan from Eintracht Frankfurt during the winter transfer window and has since played an important role in the club’s attack.
After enduring a difficult period earlier in the season, Wahi managed to rebuild his confidence and deliver important performances for the Côte d’Azur side.
His recent improvement has been reflected in front of goal, with the former Marseille player scoring five league goals since arriving at the club.
Those contributions have helped Nice during a crucial stage of the season as they continue their fight to secure their Ligue 1 status.
However, the absence of a purchase option in the agreement between Nice and Eintracht Frankfurt has made the prospect of a permanent move increasingly unlikely.
Despite his positive impact since joining the French side, the current arrangement leaves little room for the club to secure his long-term future automatically.
Speaking to L’Équipe, Wahi admitted that he does not expect his stay at the club to continue beyond the current campaign.
“The story with Nice will soon come to an end ,” he acknowledged.

Before turning his full attention to the next stage of his career, Wahi remains focused on helping Nice complete their objectives for the campaign.
