Véron Mosengo-Omba has outlined four key priorities for the future of Congolese football as he sets out his vision in the race for the presidency of the Fédération Congolaise de Football Association (FECOFA).

With the electoral process gathering pace following the validation of several candidacies, contenders have begun presenting their programmes.

Mosengo-Omba, a former Secretary General of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), has now detailed the core pillars that would shape his leadership if elected.

In a message shared publicly, he emphasised the need to restore credibility to the federation as a central objective.

Alongside this, he identified the organisation and stability of domestic competitions as another critical area requiring urgent attention.

Mosengo-Omba also highlighted youth development as a cornerstone of his project, underlining the importance of investing in grassroots football across the country.

His proposal includes a focus on nurturing talent in all 26 provinces of the Democratic Republic of Congo, reflecting a nationwide approach to long-term growth.

Infrastructure development completes the four priorities he has set out. Improving facilities, he suggests, will be essential to supporting both professional and grassroots football, and to enabling the sport to progress sustainably.

Explaining the broader vision behind his programme, Mosengo-Omba said: “My program is based on a simple idea: to rebuild FECOFA in order to sustainably restructure Congolese football and restore its performance ,”

He added that these priorities would form part of a wider strategic framework designed to address multiple aspects of the game within the country.

“These priorities are championed by a committed, competent team determined to serve Congolese football.

They will structure 11 strategic areas, which I will unveil gradually in the coming days ,” he announced.

The unveiling of his platform comes at a crucial moment in the election process, as candidates seek to define their proposals and gain support.

His focus on governance, competition structure, youth investment and infrastructure reflects key challenges facing football in the country.

As the campaign continues, further details of his programme are expected to emerge, with attention turning to how each candidate plans to implement their vision for the future of Congolese football.
