Bayern Munich injury fears eased after Arsenal draw, says Vincent Kompany

Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany says Luis Diaz and Min-jae Kim are unlikely to have suffered serious injuries in Wednesday’s 2-2 Champions League draw with Arsenal.

Both players were withdrawn during the match, prompting concerns over their availability for Bayern’s next fixtures.

Kim was replaced at half-time, while Diaz was already carrying a knock before kick-off. The forward came on after the interval but was forced to leave the pitch again shortly before full-time.

Kompany provided a positive assessment after the match, saying he expected both players to recover within a short period.

“I hope the recovery timelines are similar for both. That means not too long, perhaps less than a week,” he said.

“I think we can already rule out any serious injuries.”

Despite Kompany’s reassurance, Diaz and Kim remain doubts for Bayern’s Bundesliga trip to Freiburg on Sunday while the club continues to monitor their recovery.
