Tunisian side Etoile Sportive du Sahel has been handed a three-window registration ban by FIFA after failing to settle outstanding payments linked to the transfer of defender Alphonce Omija from Kenya’s Gor Mahia FC.

In a disciplinary communication issued via FIFA’s legal portal and dated April 30, 2026, the world football governing body confirmed that the club remains in breach of financial obligations stemming from the September transfer agreement.

Despite a prior ruling in the case referenced as FDD-27571, FIFA stated that Etoile Sportive du Sahel has not yet complied with the decision ordering payment to Gor Mahia FC.

As a result, the club is now prohibited from registering new players internationally and domestically for up to three consecutive transfer windows.

The sanction will remain in force until the full outstanding amount is paid, FIFA noted, adding that the restriction is designed to ensure compliance with its financial regulations and protect the integrity of transfer agreements.

FIFA also instructed the Tunisian Football Association to immediately enforce the ban at national level, stressing that the measure must be implemented without delay.

The case relates to the transfer of Alphonce Omija, a defender signed from Gor Mahia FC last year, with the Kenyan club reportedly still awaiting full payment from the Tunisian outfit.

The ruling places further pressure on Etoile Sportive du Sahel, who now face significant sporting consequences if the financial dispute is not resolved promptly.
