AC Milan ready to cut losses on Nkunku amid Fenerbahce interest

AC Milan are reportedly prepared to move on from Christopher Nkunku after just one season at San Siro, with Fenerbahce emerging as a leading contender for his signature this summer.

The French forward has struggled to make the expected impact in Italy, especially considering the €42 million fee Milan paid Chelsea to bring him in, and club chiefs are now said to be open to a sale.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Milan hope to recoup around €30 million for Nkunku and reinvest that money in a new attacking option. Salzburg’s Kerim Alajbegovic, who is due to return to Bayer Leverkusen, is reported to be high on their shortlist as they look to refresh their frontline.

Fenerbahce, who already tried to lure Nkunku away in January, are again being linked and could revive their interest once the transfer window opens. Saudi Arabian clubs are also mentioned as possible destinations, adding to the sense that Milan will have options if they decide to push ahead with a sale. For Nkunku, a move could offer the reset he needs after a difficult year in Serie A.
