Riyad Mahrez gifts Al Ahli teammates luxury watches after continental triumph

Riyad Mahrez has underlined his influence at Al Ahli Saudi FC by presenting his teammates with personalised luxury watches following the club’s back-to-back AFC Champions League success.

The 35-year-old Algerian forward organised the surprise gift to mark the club’s latest continental triumph, further strengthening his reputation as a key figure both on and off the pitch since joining the Saudi side.

Each player received a customised Rolex watch engraved with their name, along with a design referencing the Asian Champions League trophy.

According to journalist Walid Saeed, the value of each watch is estimated to exceed 85,000 Saudi riyals, highlighting the scale of Mahrez’s gesture towards his teammates.

The initiative, however, was not carried out by Mahrez alone. Senegal international goalkeeper Édouard Mendy and Turkish defender Merih Demiral both chose to contribute financially towards the gifts, insisting they share responsibility for the gesture.
