Dayot Upamecano targets statement win in Paris
Dayot Upamecano has made Bayern Munich’s intentions crystal clear ahead of their Champions League semi-final first leg against Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes.
Speaking in a press conference reported by Canal Supporters, the French defender stressed that Bayern are in Paris to win, not just to survive a difficult away tie.
“It’s a very important match for us; we are totally focused on our game. Of course, we want to win here at the Parc des Princes,” Upamecano said, underlining the squad’s mindset before facing PSG’s star-studded attack.
“PSG have great players and a fantastic squad. But we are completely focused on our own game and we want to win,” he added.
The clash in Paris is the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-finals, and Bayern know a positive result away from home could define the tie. Upamecano’s words reflect a confident, ambitious Bayern side determined to impose their style on one of Europe’s toughest grounds rather than simply reacting to PSG’s strengths.
