Harry Maguire hails Kobbie Mainoo’s rise
Harry Maguire believes Kobbie Mainoo is hitting the best form of his young career after being brought back into the Manchester United side by Michael Carrick.
Speaking to MUTV, the centre-back admitted he was blown away by the midfielder’s display in a recent clash at Stamford Bridge.
“He was the best player on the pitch at Chelsea. Unfortunately, I wasn’t there. I was watching on TV, but I thought he was amazing there,” Maguire said. “Tonight, he covered every blade of grass. He was incredible.”
Maguire feels Mainoo’s rapid development is now impossible to ignore. “I think he’s really starting to come into his own now, and you can see what an amazing player he is,” he continued, highlighting both his maturity and consistency at just 21 years old. “It’s crazy. He’s only 21 years old, so he’s gonna have an amazing future.”
The defender also urged Mainoo to stay grounded as expectations grow. “Keep working hard, keep improving, keep doing the basics well, and he’s going to be a big player for this club.”
