Administrative crisis puts Raja Casablanca at risk of fresh sanctions

Raja Casablanca are facing mounting administrative challenges that could lead to further sanctions, casting a shadow over the club’s return to professional league competition.

The latest setback stems from the club’s failure to finalise a supplementary financial report, despite a prior agreement between the current board and former presidents to resolve the matter.

Although previous leadership figures were tasked with preparing the report covering the months of May and June, ongoing disagreements over key details have stalled its completion and delayed submission to the relevant authorities.

According to Al-Sabah, the National Professional Football League has responded by freezing the club’s annual grants. Local authorities have also stepped in due to the missed reporting deadlines, further intensifying the situation.

The crisis has placed significant pressure on the current board, led by Jawad Al-Zayat, particularly as the deadline set by the league has already passed. The continued delay raises the possibility of additional penalties if the issue remains unresolved.

Efforts to mediate the situation have involved several former presidents and influential figures within the club, all seeking to bridge the gap between the differing parties. However, disagreements persist, and the report remains incomplete as discussions over contentious points drag on.

There is growing concern that the situation could escalate further, especially given the firm stance now being taken by the league. While some flexibility had previously been shown, there are indications that no further extensions will be granted.

Raja had earlier submitted its financial report for the season up to April 2025 before the start of the current campaign. However, the outstanding supplementary report for May and June continues to complicate the club’s administrative and financial standing, leaving its immediate future uncertain.
