Dayot Upamecano targets PSG upset after Real Madrid thriller
Dayot Upamecano says Bayern Munich are already refocused on their Champions League semifinal against PSG after edging past Real Madrid in a dramatic 4–3 second-leg win.
The defender admitted the quarterfinal clash at the Allianz Arena demanded everything from him and his teammates, both physically and emotionally.
“We were all very well prepared. We knew we were playing at home in front of our fans. We’re all very happy with this victory. It wasn’t an easy match; I had a lot of work to do, and to be honest, I almost lost my voice. We’re all proud of our performance today and are looking forward to moving on,” the French centre-back said.
Attention now turns to PSG, with Upamecano under no illusions about the size of the challenge. “It won’t be an easy match. PSG is a very good team with an excellent coach. They play very good soccer; we’ve played against them before. We know what to expect, and we’ll do everything we can to win in Paris before hosting them at home,” he added, setting the tone for a fiercely contested all-European semifinal.
