Rayan Cherki calls the Premier League the world’s best league
Rayan Cherki is relishing his first months in the Premier League and at Manchester City, where he feels he has stepped onto the biggest stage in club football.
The French midfielder admits that simply being part of England’s top flight is a source of pride and motivation for him.
“I think a lot of things but the first is it’s the best league in the world. And I’m very proud to be here. And I want to play, I want to take pleasure, I want to win games, I want to score, I want to give assists for my partners,” Cherki has said. Those ambitions are already visible in his performances for City.
Since joining the club, Cherki has appeared in 26 Premier League matches, scoring three goals and providing 10 assists as he adapts to the intensity and rhythm of English football. His influence was recognized when he was named Premier League Player of Matchweek 32 after a standout display.
For a young player still settling into a new country and competition, Cherki’s impact underlines why he believes he is exactly where he needs to be.
