Mbappe asks Real Madrid fans for patience during dip in form

Kylian Mbappe has called on Real Madrid supporters to stay patient as he works through a difficult physical spell triggered by the relentless demands of modern football.

In an interview with GQ España, the 27-year-old French star admitted that today’s “era de consumo excesivo” makes it almost impossible for elite players to perform at their best every single week.

Mbappe first underlined how grateful he feels for his career and his current situation at Real Madrid. “For me, it’s like a gift from God. To have the opportunity to live my passion, to play in the best matches, to be at the best club in the world. I’m always so grateful to be on the pitch, to wake up every morning to do what makes me happy.”

He then spoke openly about the challenge of maintaining top form. “Today, talent isn’t enough. What makes the difference is consistency. We live in an age of overconsumption. We can’t always be good and deliver the show the public expects.”

His comments come amid mounting scrutiny of his performances this season, with Real Madrid fighting on multiple fronts in La Liga and the Champions League. An ever more crowded calendar, including expanded competitions, has taken a visible toll on many of the game’s biggest names, and Mbappe is urging fans to see the bigger picture as he battles to rediscover his best level.
