Algerian winger Riyad Mahrez delivered a decisive moment deep into extra time to send Al-Ahli Saudi FC into the quarter-finals of the AFC Champions League, before signalling his willingness to extend his stay with the club.

The 35-year-old captain scored the only goal in a tightly contested clash against Al-Duhail SC, converting a direct free kick in the 117th minute of the second period of extra time to secure a 1-0 victory.

His late intervention proved decisive in a match that had remained finely balanced throughout, with Mahrez stepping up at a critical moment to guide his side into the next stage of the competition.
