Adnan Aziz’s journey from Benin to South America gathers pace

Beninese forward Adnan Aziz is continuing his steady rise in football after securing his first professional contract in Argentina, marking the latest step in a career shaped across three continents.

Born on January 1, 2002, in Djougou, Aziz began his football journey in his home country, where he developed his early skills and quickly gained recognition for his physical presence and versatility in attack.

Standing at 1.86 metres and weighing 80 kilograms, the right-footed striker has shown an ability to operate in multiple offensive roles.

He started his career with Tchemabi FC before moving to Soleil FC, where he was introduced to the demands of top-level football in Benin at a notably young age.

His performances during this period highlighted his potential and laid the groundwork for opportunities abroad.

Aziz’s development then continued in Europe, beginning in France with Angers MFC, followed by a spell at Saumur Olympique in the National 2 division. These experiences allowed him to adjust to a more structured and competitive football environment, further refining his game.

His journey later took him to Italy, where he featured for Licata Calcio in Serie D and ASD Juvenilia Roseto in the Eccellenza league. These stints contributed to his tactical growth and consistency, as he adapted to different playing styles and competitive demands.

On the international stage, Aziz has also been involved with the Benin U23 national team, earning call-ups during preparations for the qualifiers of the U23 Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2022.

A significant breakthrough has now come in South America. Following a successful trial, Aziz signed his first professional contract with a second-division club in Argentina, committing to a project that runs until 2028.
