Abde Ezzalzouli explains decision not to celebrate goal against Osasuna
Moroccan attacker Abde Ezzalzouli has opened up on why he chose not to celebrate his goal against his former club CA Osasuna during La Liga action on Sunday.
The Real Betis winger delivered a brilliant strike against his old side but opted for a subdued reaction in front of the Osasuna supporters at the Estadio El Sadar.
Speaking after the match, the Morocco international explained that his decision was driven by respect for the club where he previously played, rather than a lack of emotion over the goal.
He emphasised the strong relationship he still feels with Osasuna, noting the bond built during his time there and the appreciation he holds for their fans.
Osasuna managed to respond later in the match, with striker Ante Budimir converting a penalty in the 40th minute to bring the game level before half-time, leaving the contest finely balanced going into the second half.
Ezzalzouli further added after the game that if he scores again against Osasuna, he would maintain the same respectful approach and refrain from celebrating, highlighting the mutual affection he believes still exists between himself and the club’s supporters.
