Congolese coach Papy Kimoto joins Singida as club reshapes technical staff
Singida Black Stars have announced a major overhaul of their technical structure, appointing Papy Kimoto as General Manager and promoting Ngoyi Dora to the role of assistant coach.
The changes, confirmed on Friday, 10 April 2026, come as the club seeks to revive its campaign during the closing stages of the season.
Kimoto, a former international with DR Congo, has signed a 15-month contract and will take responsibility for overseeing sporting operations while introducing greater discipline within the squad.
His arrival marks a significant step in Singida’s efforts to strengthen its internal structure. Known for his experience across African football, Kimoto is expected to bring both tactical understanding and organisational oversight to the club’s setup.
Alongside this appointment, Singida have turned to continuity by elevating Dora, a familiar figure within the organisation.
He steps into the assistant coach role on a one-year, three-month deal, moving closer to first-team responsibilities after previously working within the club structure.
Both Kimoto and Dora will work in support of Muhibu Kanu, who remains in charge as head coach until the end of the current campaign.
Their immediate task will be to integrate into the existing coaching team while contributing to improved performances on the pitch.
The restructuring reflects a broader strategy by the club to stabilise results in the short term while laying the groundwork for future progress.
By combining Kimoto’s continental experience with Dora’s understanding of the club environment, Singida aim to build a more cohesive and disciplined team.
Management view the move as a necessary step in their ambition to return to a competitive level within the region.
While the focus remains on finishing the current season strongly, the appointments also signal a longer-term vision centred on strengthening the technical framework and enhancing overall performance.
