Tunisia to unveil World Cup squad as Lamouchi outlines preparation schedule
Tunisia will unveil its 26-man squad for the 2026 World Cup between 15 and 18 May, as head coach Sabri Lamouchi finalises plans for the tournament.
The announcement is expected to come just days before the start of the team’s official preparations, marking a key step in the build-up to the global competition.
Lamouchi, who has recently spent time in France with his family, is set to return to Tunis to confirm the final selection for the tournament.
The Carthage Eagles head into the World Cup on the back of encouraging performances in March, where they secured a 1-0 win over Haiti and held Canada to a goalless draw in Toronto.
Both opponents had also qualified for the 2026 finals, offering Tunisia a valuable test against fellow participants.
Attention will now turn to the preparation phase, with the Tunisian squad scheduled to begin a training camp on 21 May in Tabarka, located in the north-west of the country, approximately 100 kilometres from the capital.
Players who have completed their club commitments will report first, as Lamouchi begins to shape his squad ahead of a demanding series of fixtures.
The training camp will run until the team departs for Europe, where Tunisia are set to face Austria in Vienna on 1 June.
The squad will remain on the continent for further preparation, including a second friendly against Belgium in Brussels on 6 June.
Following their European fixtures, the team will briefly return to Tunisia for around 24 hours before travelling to Monterrey, Mexico, to continue their World Cup preparations. There, Tunisia will play Sweden on 14 June and Japan on 20 June.
The final stage of their pre-tournament schedule will see them travel to Kansas City, where they are due to face the Netherlands on 25 June.
With a structured programme in place and a series of high-level friendlies lined up, Tunisia will look to build momentum as they approach the 2026 World Cup.
