Bryan Mbeumo credits Manchester United players for quick adaptation
Cameroon international Bryan Mbeumo has lifted the lid on how a strong support system inside Manchester United’s dressing room helped him hit the ground running following his move to Old Trafford in the summer.
Mbeumo joined the Premier League giants last summer after a stellar performance with Brentford, who he racked up over 20 goals last term.
The forward admitted that adapting to a new club, city, and environment can be overwhelming, but credited several teammates for making the transition seamless from day one.
Among those he highlighted were young defender Leny Yoro and winger Amad, with the shared language playing a crucial role in helping him settle quickly.
“When I arrived, I was already with Leny and Amad because they speak my language, so it’s always easier,” Mbeumo revealed. “Cunha as well, because he can speak French.”
The 25-year-old also pointed to Joshua Zirkzee as an early ally, praising the Dutch striker for his welcoming attitude and support during his first days at the club.
“Josh went along with me really well, helped me from the start,” he added.
Beyond friendships, Mbeumo reserved special praise for club captain Bruno Fernandes, whose leadership and constant encouragement proved vital—especially during difficult moments as he adjusted to life at one of the world’s biggest clubs.
“Bruno always talked to me, even when I had maybe bad moments,” Mbeumo said. “A new place and environment is not always easy, so he was always there if I needed to speak—it was really good.”
On the pitch, Mbeumo has begun to justify the faith shown in him. This season, the versatile attacker has registered 14 goals and 9 assists in all competitions, underlining his growing importance in United’s attacking setup. His pace, directness, and ability to operate across the frontline have added a new dimension to the team’s forward play.
