Orlando Pirates Abdeslam Ouaddou has challenged rising star Relebohile Mofokeng to maintain his momentum and continue delivering standout performances following his brilliant hat-trick for Orlando Pirates.

The young attacker stole the spotlight on Sunday with a sensational display as Pirates dismantled TS Galaxy 6-0 in a Betway Premiership clash in Mbombela.

The emphatic victory propelled Pirates to the summit of the league standings with 51 points, edging past defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns by a single point in what is shaping up to be a fiercely contested title race.

Despite the dominant result and Mofokeng’s individual brilliance, Ouaddou was quick to stress that the youngster must not become complacent. Instead, he urged the forward to see the performance as a stepping stone toward even greater achievements.

“It’s good for the log for us in terms of goal difference, and these three goals have to show him that it’s not the end. He has to keep working and maybe some more hat-tricks in the future as well,” Ouaddou said.

The coach also highlighted the psychological boost such a performance brings, not just to the player but to the entire squad.

“I think it’s important for him, but it’s important for the team and the club as well. A young boy scoring a hat-trick will gain trust and confidence. It shows he can perform at a high level, so it’s good for him,” he added.

Mofokeng’s red-hot form comes at the perfect time, as he has now linked up with South Africa national football team for the international break. He is expected to play a significant role when they take on Panama national football team in an upcoming friendly.

With confidence soaring and expectations rising, all eyes will be on the talented youngster to translate his club form onto the international stage while continuing to be a key figure in Pirates’ push for domestic glory.
