Togo launch training camp as squad builds for friendlies
Togo national team have begun their training camp in Morocco ahead of upcoming international friendlies against Guinea national team and Niger national team.
The gathering marks the start of preparations for the March 2026 international window, with a number of players already in camp as the squad begins its build-up.
Around ten players reported for duty at the start, including experienced figures such as Djene Dakonam and Jean-Victor Makengo Aholou, setting the tone for what has been described as an intense start to the week.
Coaching staff have put in place a structured programme aimed at balancing recovery and tactical work.
Early sessions have combined indoor activities with on-pitch drills, allowing players to regain fitness while gradually integrating tactical instructions. The approach is designed to ensure a smooth transition for those arriving later in the week.
Further reinforcements are expected to join the group in stages, including players such as Bradley Barcola and Seko Fofana, with striker Kévin Denkey scheduled to arrive on Tuesday.
The staggered arrivals are expected to see the squad reach full strength as preparations progress.
However, the camp has not been without challenges. Injuries and other circumstances have led to the absence of several players, forcing adjustments within the squad.
The withdrawals of Bessilé and Aziangbé have created defensive concerns, requiring changes in selection and organisation.
Head coach Patrice Neveu will also be without Fo-Doh Laba due to ongoing circumstances in the Middle East. In response, Klidjè Thibault has been called up to fill the gap in the attacking line.
Togo are scheduled to face Guinea on March 27 before taking on Niger on March 31, as they look to make the most of the international window and refine their approach ahead of future competitions.
