Rwanda call up Kwizera Olivier after Ntwari injury ahead of FIFA Series
Rwanda have made a late change to their squad for the FIFA Series, with Kwizera Olivier replacing injured goalkeeper Ntwari Fiacre.
The adjustment comes after Ntwari, who plays for Kaizer Chiefs, was ruled out due to injury, forcing Rwanda’s coaching staff to reorganise their goalkeeping options ahead of the international fixtures.
His absence represents a disruption to the squad’s preparations, particularly in a position where continuity and communication are crucial.
With matches approaching, the coaching team has acted quickly to ensure cover and maintain stability within the group.
Kwizera, who currently represents Rayon Sports FC, has been drafted into the squad as a replacement.
The goalkeeper brings prior international experience, having already earned seven caps for Rwanda, which provides reassurance as the team prepares for the competition.
By comparison, Ntwari has played a more prominent role in recent years, accumulating 17 international appearances.
His absence therefore removes a more experienced option from the squad, placing additional responsibility on those stepping in.
The change highlights the challenges teams often face during international windows, where injuries can force last-minute adjustments and test squad depth.
Rwanda will now rely on Kwizera and the remaining goalkeepers to adapt quickly and deliver under pressure.
As the FIFA Series approaches, the focus for Rwanda will shift towards ensuring that the transition in goalkeeping does not affect overall team performance.
The coaching staff will be looking for a smooth integration, allowing the squad to remain competitive despite the setback.
For Kwizera, the call-up presents an opportunity to reinforce his place in the national setup and contribute to the team’s objectives.
His familiarity with the squad could prove valuable as Rwanda aims to navigate the upcoming fixtures successfully.
