Boost for CR Belouizdad key defender Noufel Khassif returns ahead of crucial Al Masry clash

Algerian outfit CR Belouizdad have received a timely boost ahead of their decisive CAF Confederation Cup quarter-final second leg, with the return of key player Noufel Khassif from injury.

Khassif, who missed the first leg due to fitness issues, has now resumed training with the club and is expected to be available for selection as Belouizdad prepare to host Al Masry this weekend.

The Algerian side will take confidence from their performance in the first leg, where they secured a valuable 1-1 draw at the New Suez Stadium. Salah Mohsen gave Al Masry the lead, but Lotfi Bousouar struck to earn Belouizdad a crucial away result.

With everything to play for, both sides will battle it out on Saturday, March 21, for a place in the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup. The return of Khassif could prove decisive as Belouizdad aim to capitalize on home advantage and secure qualification.

Awaiting the winner in the semi-finals will be either Zamalek or AS Otoho, adding further stakes to what promises to be a high-intensity encounter.

As the countdown begins, Belouizdad will be hoping their restored squad depth gives them the edge in a finely poised tie.
