Moroccan forward Ayoub El Kaabi signs new Olympiakos contract running until 2028
Morocco international Ayoub El Kaabi has extended his contract with Olympiacos FC, committing his future to the club until 30 June 2028.
The announcement was confirmed by the Greek side on Thursday, securing the services of the experienced striker who has become a central figure in the team’s attacking line.
At the age of 32, El Kaabi continues to deliver consistent performances for Olympiakos.
The forward has built a reputation as one of the club’s most reliable goal scorers and currently holds the record as Olympiakos’ leading scorer in European competitions.
His impact has been particularly notable this season in the Super League Greece, where he has scored 15 goals in 20 league appearances.
Those numbers place him among the leading scorers in the competition and underline his importance to the club’s campaign.
Continued impact for club and country
El Kaabi’s strong club form has come alongside his recent involvement with the Moroccan national team.
During the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, the striker produced notable individual performances despite Morocco’s early exit from the competition.
He finished the tournament as joint top scorer with three goals, several of which reflected the acrobatic finishing style that has become one of his trademarks.
The striker also reached a personal milestone earlier in the season.
In December, the Casablanca-born forward registered his 50th league goal for Olympiakos, reinforcing his place among the club’s key attacking players.
A sign of mutual trust
The contract extension highlights the continued confidence between El Kaabi and the Olympiakos management, who view the striker as a central element of their sporting plans in the coming seasons.
By securing the forward’s services until 2028, the club ensures stability in attack as it continues its domestic and European ambitions.
Olympiakos are next scheduled to face OFI Crete on Saturday in the league, where supporters will again look to their number nine to lead the line.
For fans of the Greek side, the contract extension offers reassurance that one of the team’s most influential players will remain at the club for several more seasons.
