RC Strasbourg winger Yassine Gessime attracts interest from Barcelona and Chelsea
RC Strasbourg winger Yassine Gessime is reportedly attracting interest from FC Barcelona and Chelsea after a series of standout performances in Ligue 1 and a U20 World Cup victory with Morocco.
The 20-year-old joined Strasbourg from Dunkirk last January and has quickly made an impact, with his decisive brace and technical display against Reims in the Coupe de France last weekend putting him in the spotlight.
Gessime’s agent, Hervé Kross, confirmed Barcelona’s interest in the Moroccan international, highlighting his growing reputation across Europe.
Gessime, nicknamed “the magician” by fans at the Meinau Stadium, has developed into a dynamic winger capable of cutting inside and energising attacking play. His style has been noted as a strong fit for Hansi Flick’s philosophy, further enhancing his appeal to top clubs.
While Barcelona reportedly see Gessime as an ideal option to revitalise their flanks, competition for his signature is expected to be intense.
Chelsea have also expressed interest, while two Bundesliga clubs are monitoring his contract situation, which runs until 2030 with Strasbourg.
Strasbourg, who invested around €1.2 million to sign him, could secure a significant profit, with reports suggesting his market value could exceed €30 million.
The club is expected to negotiate carefully given the interest from several major European teams.
As the 2026 summer transfer window approaches, Gessime’s next move will be closely watched.
His performances at Strasbourg, combined with his U20 World Cup success, suggest that the young Atlas Lion could soon step onto one of Europe’s biggest stages, either in La Liga or the Premier League.
