Esperance Tunis coach Patrice Beaumelle has emphasized the importance of making the most of playing the first leg of their CAF Champions League quarter-final against Al Ahly in front of their home fans.

The Tunisian side will host the Egyptian giants on Sunday at Rades Stadium, before traveling to Cairo Stadium for the return leg on March 21.

Speaking to the CAF website, Beaumelle highlighted the significance of starting the tie strongly on home soil. “We want to give our all in front of our fans in the first leg against Al Ahly. We have to play this match with all our strength so that we can approach the second leg in the best possible way,” he said.

“Our focus is now entirely on the Al Ahly match. Preparation is important not only for the players but also for the fans. We hope to have the final say,” Beaumelle added.

Playing in front of their supporters, he believes, offers an extra incentive. “Playing in front of our fans gives us an extra incentive. We have to be ready, decisive, and show our strength from the first minute,” he concluded.

With the home advantage in the first leg, Esperance will aim to build momentum and secure a favorable result before heading to Cairo for the return fixture, setting the stage for an intense and highly anticipated two-legged battle.
