Ibrahim Sangaré linked with Manchester United as Forest demand big fee

Manchester United would need to pay between €45m and €50m to sign midfielder Ibrahim Sangaré from Nottingham Forest, with the club prepared to discuss a deal only within that valuation.

The Ivory Coast international has emerged as a player of interest for several clubs, including United, as the Premier League side assesses options to strengthen its squad.

With the team competing for the top positions in the Premier League, planning is already under way for the possibility of a return to the UEFA Champions League.

Forest, however, appear unwilling to lower their expectations regarding a potential transfer. While the club is open to negotiations, any agreement would need to fall within the €45m to €50m range.

Sangaré’s performances have attracted attention due to his physical presence in midfield, defensive contributions and experience at the highest level.

Those attributes have led to speculation that he could eventually be viewed as a long-term option in a role similar to that currently held by Casemiro at Manchester United.

Despite the growing interest, the 26-year-old remains under contract with Nottingham Forest for three more seasons. His position within the squad continues to be significant, making him an important figure for the club.

The potential transfer fee being discussed is notably higher than his current estimated market value.

According to figures from Transfermarkt, Sangaré is valued at around €22m, a figure considerably lower than the amount Forest are reportedly seeking.

During the current campaign, Sangaré has been a regular presence in Forest’s midfield. He has made 32 appearances across competitions, contributing two goals and three assists.

His role in the team has combined defensive stability with occasional attacking contributions, reflecting his versatility in central midfield.

Financially, the player is also among the established earners at the club. His reported annual salary stands at approximately €4.48m.

As interest from Manchester United continues, Nottingham Forest’s valuation suggests that any potential deal would require a substantial financial commitment.

For now, Sangaré remains a central figure at Forest, even as speculation about his future continues to gather pace.
