Dominic Solanke urges Tottenham to face relegation fight head-on
Dominic Solanke says the Tottenham squad fully understands how serious their situation has become after a damaging 3-1 home defeat to Crystal Palace left them just one point above the relegation zone and still without a win in 11 games in 2026.
The striker revealed there was a frank, extended discussion in the dressing room after the final whistle as players tried to address the team’s alarming form.
“We’ve just had a long talk. We know we’re nowhere near the position we want to be in, so now we have to figure out how to get out of this as quickly as possible.” “We know we have problems, but we are no longer in a position to look for any excuses.”
Solanke stressed that words mean nothing unless they are backed up by performances and intensity on the pitch.
“We need to do our job on the pitch. It’s easy to say we want to be better, but we truly need to perform better on the pitch. We have to fight and realize where we are.” He added that Spurs, a club unaccustomed to battling at the wrong end of the table, must “fight in every match, every minute” to climb away from danger.
