Senegalese midfielder Pape Demba Diop earns Violet of the Month award at Toulouse
Senegalese midfielder Pape Demba Diop has been voted Toulouse FC’s Player of the Month for February after delivering consistent performances in the club’s midfield.
Diop, who arrived at Toulouse last summer, started five of the team’s six matches during the month and received 32% of the fan vote, finishing ahead of goalkeeper Guillaume Restes, as well as Yann Gboho and Cristian Cásseres Jr. He succeeds Santiago Hidalgo, last month’s award winner.
Despite a challenging month for Toulouse as a whole, Diop’s influence in central midfield was widely recognised by the supporters.
His ability to control the tempo and contribute defensively and offensively cemented his status as a key figure in the squad.
The 23-year-old Lion of Teranga has quickly established himself as an important player since joining from his previous club, showcasing both composure and consistency in Ligue 1 appearances.
Toulouse FC have announced that Diop will officially present his Player of the Month trophy to fans on Saturday, 7 March, prior to the club’s home match against Olympique de Marseille, which kicks off at 20:00 GMT. The presentation at the Stadium will allow supporters to celebrate the midfielder’s achievements in person.
For Diop, the award is a reflection of his efforts on the pitch as he continues to adapt to French top-flight football.
His performances in February highlighted his growing influence and his capacity to make decisive contributions in key moments for Toulouse FC.
Fans and teammates alike will be looking to Diop to maintain his high level of performance as the club enters the final stretch of the season, hoping that his midfield leadership can help Toulouse secure important results in Ligue 1.
