Ghana international Antoine Semenyo is in contention for the English Premier League player of the month award for February following a standout display for Manchester City.

Semenyo, who joined the Sky Blues in the winter transfer window delivered a top-class performance for the club, racking up three goals in February for the club.

His outstanding performance did not go unnoticed, earning him a place in the Player of the Month nominees. Semenyo has already netted five Premier League goals in seven games for the title chasers.

The 26-year-old netted in the 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspurs before firing in the victories over Fulham and Leeds United.

He faces competitions from City teammate Nico O’Reilly, Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres, former teammate and now Brentford forward Dango Ouattara and Manchester United’s high-flying star Benjamin Sesko. Also on the list of contenders for the award is Liverpool captain and defender Virgil Van Dijk.

Semenyo has been nominated for the award twice this season but he is yet to win the accolade.

The England-born forward joined City in the winter transfer window from AFC Bournemouth for £62.5 million.
