Senegalese manager Omar Daf dismissed by Amiens SC

Amiens SC have dismissed head coach Omar Daf following a difficult run of results that has left the French club struggling near the bottom of the Ligue 2 table.

The decision was confirmed in an official statement released by the club on Thursday, announcing that the Senegalese manager had been relieved of his duties with immediate effect.

In the statement, the club acknowledged the work carried out by Daf during his time in charge and expressed appreciation for his commitment to the team.

“The club wishes to thank Omar for his commitment, professionalism, and the work he has accomplished since his arrival, as well as for his dedication to the club and the team.”

The move marks an abrupt end to Daf’s tenure at the Picardy-based side, particularly as the coach had only recently committed his future to the club.

Just a few months ago, the Senegalese manager extended his contract with Amiens, a deal that was set to keep him at the club until 2027.

However, the team’s results this season have significantly altered the situation.

Amiens have struggled to find consistency throughout the current campaign, managing only six victories in 25 league matches. The lack of positive results has gradually pushed the club closer to the relegation zone.

At present, Amiens sit 16th in the Ligue 2 standings out of 18 teams, a position that leaves them dangerously close to dropping out of the division.

The disappointing run of form has raised serious concerns about the club’s ability to maintain its place in the league.

With the team facing increasing pressure in the final stages of the season, the club’s leadership opted to make a change in the technical area.

Daf’s departure therefore comes at a crucial point in the campaign, as Amiens attempt to halt their decline and improve their position in the table.

For the Senegalese coach, the dismissal ends a chapter that had once appeared to offer long-term stability following the extension of his contract.

Instead, the season’s results have brought an early conclusion to his time with the Ligue 2 side.
