Morocco star Sofyan Amrabat set to resume Real Betis training after three-month absence

Moroccan international Sofyan Amrabat, is expected to resume Real Betis training on Tuesday, signaling the first step toward a long-awaited comeback after nearly three months away from the pitch.

The enterprising midfielder will start with individual training at the Luis del Sol Training Complex, primarily focusing on gym sessions designed to rebuild strength and fitness.

Over the following days, he is expected to gradually integrate with the first-team squad under a carefully structured program developed by Real Betis’ technical and medical staff.

Amrabat’s potential availability for Real Betis in the Europa League Round of 16 will depend on his physical progress over the next week. Early assessments suggest that, if all goes according to plan, the Moroccan midfielder could make his competitive return as soon as next week.

His absence began approximately three months ago when he left Sevilla to undergo medical evaluations and treatment in Morocco ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations finals “AFCON 2025.”

During the tournament, he featured in three matches for the Morocco national football team (Atlas Lions). Following AFCON, Amrabat traveled to the Netherlands to undergo arthroscopic surgery to address a lingering injury initially sustained in late November 2020.

Real Betis fans will be eagerly watching Amrabat’s progress, hoping the midfielder can regain full fitness in time to contribute to the team’s push in both domestic and European competitions. His return promises to strengthen Betis’ midfield with his physicality, vision, and experience at both club and international level.
