Dutch-Ghanaian winger Jeremy Doku returns to training at Manchester City after injury recovery
Manchester City have been boosted by the return of Dutch-Ghanaian winger Jeremy Doku ahead key fixtures.
Doku, who has been sidelined for several weeks with a calf injury sustained during a Champions League fixture against Galatasaray last month, has returned to full training with the City squad.
The 21-year-old winger completed his first full session last Friday , a promising development for the Citizens as they prepare for a pivotal clash in the title race and Champions League round 16 clash against Real Madrid.
Giving update on Doku ahead of the Leeds United showdown, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said, “We will see how he responds to training and consult the medical team before making any decision,” the manager said. “We cannot risk a recurrence of the injury, especially with such an important fixture and his role in our attack.”
The Belgian international has been influential this season, contributing three goals and 11 assists in 30 appearances across all competitions. His pace, creativity, and direct threat on the wing are vital for Manchester City as they push to maintain momentum in the Premier League title race.
The winger’s return to training offers a morale boost for both the squad and fans. City will be monitoring him closely ahead of the decisive encounter, hoping to have one of their most dangerous attackers back in contention.
