A British report has shed fresh light on Mohamed Salah’s future, suggesting the Liverpool star is edging closer to a summer exit after a tense and emotionally charged season at Anfield.

The Egyptian is battling to rediscover his scoring touch in the Premier League, enduring the longest goal drought of his career in the competition.

According to the BBC, Salah left the dressing room quickly after the recent win over Nottingham Forest, offering only a brief smile and no media comments, a sharp contrast to his explosive words at Elland Road two months earlier, when he felt the club had “thrown him under the bus” after three games on the bench.

He later apologised to teammates and repaired his relationship with coach Arne Slot, who continues to praise his work rate and defensive contribution.

On the pitch, his output has dipped, with his goal involvement per game falling from 1.25 last season to 0.56, and his xG halving compared to the previous campaign. Despite that, he still leads many rivals in direct contributions and remains central to Liverpool’s trophy push.

The BBC notes that a summer departure now looks likely, with strong interest from Saudi Arabia and MLS and Liverpool keen to avoid losing him for free when his contract expires in 2027.
