Cameroon star Zambo Anguissa set to mark injury return against Hellas Verona after recovery

Cameroon international Zambo Anguissa could mark his return from injury this weekend when Napoli takes on Hellas Verona in the Italian Serie A, ending a frustrating spell on the sidelines.

Anguissa last featured for Napoli on November 9, 2025, before an injury forced him out of action for almost three months.

The midfielder was initially scheduled to return to action last January, but persistent back pain delayed his return. Now, Anguissa’s fitness has been fully restored, giving both the player and Napoli fans a reason to be optimistic.

The experienced midfielder has resumed full training with the squad and received the green light to return to action. He could be available for selection in the upcoming Serie A Matchday 27 against Hellas Verona on Saturday.

His return comes as a welcome boost for Napoli, who have been managing without their dynamic midfield engine for several months.

The Cameroonian’s absence was also felt on the international stage, as he missed the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco with the Indomitable Lions.

Before the injury setback, Anguissa had made eleven appearances for Napoli, scoring four goals and providing an assist, showcasing his ability to influence matches both defensively and offensively.

Napoli manager Antonio Conte now has the task of reintegrating Anguissa into the team, but with his fitness and form returning, the midfielder is expected to play a pivotal role as Napoli push for crucial points in the Serie A title race.
