Dortmund hold talks with new agency of German-Nigerian midfielder Felix Nmecha

Felix Nmecha’s future at Borussia Dortmund has come under the spotlight following initial discussions between the club and his newly appointed agency, THE TALENT TABLE.

The 25-year-old midfielder’s representatives visited Dortmund last week to hold preliminary talks about his career plans.

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl and his team expressed a strong desire to extend Nmecha’s current contract, which runs until summer 2028, with a proposed salary increase.

Currently earning an estimated five million euros per season, a new deal could place him in the top tier of the club’s wage structure, around seven to eight million euros annually.

Despite the club’s intentions, extending the contract is not guaranteed. Nmecha’s recent change of agency indicates that he has broader ambitions, with the English Premier League reportedly a key target for the German-Nigerian star.

Speaking to Sport Bild, Nmecha’s new agency stressed a measured approach: “Felix still has two years left on his contract, and we fully respect that. Borussia Dortmund has played an important role in his development, and he is grateful for the trust and platform the club has given him.”

The agency added, “The player continues to develop from season to season, and when a player performs well, there is naturally always interest and questions about the future. That’s part of top-level football and reflects the progress he has made. At the moment, the focus is very clear: Felix is determined to give everything for Borussia Dortmund, to fight for the club, and to help the team achieve its goals. In due course, all discussions about the future will always be conducted respectfully and jointly with the club.”

As negotiations begin, Dortmund faces the delicate task of balancing the midfielder’s ambitions with the club’s desire to secure his long-term services, making the upcoming months crucial for both parties.
