Al Ahly midfielder Youssef Belammari suffers hand injury

Al Ahly SC have been dealt a fresh concern after Moroccan international Youssef Belammari experienced renewed pain in his hand following the team’s recent league fixture.

The former Raja Club Athletic defender is reportedly dealing with a minor hand injury that will require him to wear a protective cast.

According to Egyptian outlet Al-Watan Sport, the discomfort resurfaced after an awkward fall in the closing stages of Al Ahly’s match against Smouha SC.

The report indicated that Ahmed Gaballah, head of Al Ahly’s medical staff, is expected to fit Belammari with a new splint on his right hand to stabilise the injury after the pain flared up again during the encounter.

Despite the setback, the same source emphasised that the issue is not serious enough to sideline the player from competitive action. Belammari is still expected to be available for Al Ahly’s upcoming clash against ZED FC.

The Cairo giants are preparing to host ZED on Saturday evening at Cairo International Stadium in their 20th round league fixture, with Belammari likely to feature while wearing protective support on his hand.
