Algerian playmaker Youcef Belaïli unveils ambitious Juventus Academy Project in Algeria
Algerian international Youcef Belaïli has announced plans to launch a major sports development initiative aimed at nurturing young talent across Algeria.
The playmaker, who currently features for Tunisian giants Espérance Sportive de Tunis, is turning his attention to grassroots football after years of success on African and Arab pitches.
The project signals a new chapter in Belaïli’s journey, reflecting a shift from personal achievement to long term impact.
Having built a strong reputation throughout his career, the midfielder is now leveraging his experience and international connections to create opportunities for the next generation of Algerian footballers.
Speaking in an interview with Samira TV, Belaïli disclosed that he intends to establish official academies affiliated with Italian powerhouse Juventus in Algeria.
He revealed that the first academy will be set up in his hometown of Oran before expanding the initiative to Algiers.
The player said: “I will start by opening the Juventus Academy in Oran first, then we will move later to Algiers. Our goal is to provide a professional environment for young people, especially those who do not have the financial means, as we will provide them with accommodation, training and integrated sports education.”
The initiative is also expected to deepen Italian football’s footprint in North Africa. Juventus academies have earned global recognition for their structured approach, tactical discipline and emphasis on cultivating a strong winning mentality among young players.
Through this project, Belaïli hopes to channel that philosophy into Algeria’s football ecosystem while creating a sustainable pathway for emerging stars.
