Patrick Dorgu faces lengthy spell out with hamstring injury

Patrick Dorgu is expected to be sidelined until around mid-April after suffering a hamstring injury, a frustrating setback just as he was hitting top form for Manchester United.

The issue was reported by The Athletic’s Carl Anka and rules the young defender out for several crucial weeks.

Dorgu had been enjoying a real breakthrough in recent months, highlighted by a brilliant goal against Arsenal that followed his strike versus Manchester City in January.

In the Premier League this season, he has featured in 22 games, scoring three goals and providing three assists, underlining his growing influence from wide areas. His energetic displays and fearless attacking runs have quickly turned him into a favourite among United fans.

Initially signed to operate as a wing-back under Ruben Amorim, Dorgu has since adapted impressively to a wider role in Michael Carrick’s system. His versatility and maturity have stood out for such a young player.
