Raja Athletic Club hold CRISIS meeting with Fadlu Davids amid poor performances
Raja Athletic Club reportedly convened a crisis meeting with coach Fadlu Davids amid mounting concerns over the team’s recent results.
Davids, who joined the Moroccan side in September from Simba SC—now managed by his compatriot Steve Barker—is in his second spell at the club. He previously served as assistant coach to Josef Zinnbauer during the 2023/24 season.
Since his return, Davids has guided the Green Eagles to competitive performances in the Botola Pro League.
Raja currently sit fourth, level on 20 points with the top three, although they have played one game fewer than MAS Fes and CODM Meknes.
Recent results have, however, caused concern. The team drew 0-0 with Yaacoub El Mansour, suffered a 1-0 defeat to Meknes, and drew again against Union Touarga, with only a victory over RCA Zemamra breaking the sequence.
These performances have reportedly raised questions among management and supporters about the squad’s consistency.
According to Al Anbaa TV, a meeting was held this week to address these issues.
The club reportedly emerged united behind Davids, with management reaffirming their support for the former Orlando Pirates coach as Raja continue to pursue the league title.
Davids has reportedly committed to restoring the team’s form and securing positive results in upcoming matches.
Raja’s next challenge comes on Monday, February 23, when they host IR Tanger—a fixture that could provide the 44-year-old coach with a crucial confidence boost if they claim victory.
