Nottingham Forest plotting move for Spanish-Guinean attacker Ansu Fati

Nottingham Forest are reportedly plotting a major attacking reinforcement ahead of the summer transfer window, with their attention firmly fixed on Spain international of Guinea-Bissau descent, Ansu Fati.

The Spanish winger, still contracted to FC Barcelona, is currently on a season-long loan at AS Monaco as he looks to rediscover his best form. Once regarded as the crown jewel of Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy, Fati’s progress has been disrupted in recent seasons by persistent injury setbacks and temporary moves away from Camp Nou.

Per reports, Forest are preparing an official bid in the region of €15 million for the 23-year-old. The Premier League side are said to believe that a change of environment could help the talented attacker reignite his career, with the City Ground viewed as a potential platform for a fresh start.

Barcelona, for their part, are understood to be open to negotiations. The Catalan giants are keen to reduce their wage commitments and generate funds to facilitate new arrivals, making Fati one of the players who could be sacrificed as part of their financial restructuring.

This season, Fati has made 19 appearances across all competitions, having missed a significant portion of the campaign through injury. Despite limited game time, he has managed to score eight goals.

With Forest eager to strengthen their frontline and Barcelona willing to listen to offers, the coming months could prove decisive in shaping the next chapter of Fati’s once-promising career.
