Ghana star Frank Acheampong joins Chinese side Dalian Yingbo Haifa
Chinese Super League side Dalian Yingbo Haifa have announced the signing of Ghanaian international Frank Acheampong ahead of the new season, securing the 32-year-old on a one-year contract for an undisclosed fee.
Acheampong arrives after a prolific campaign with Henan FC, where he emerged as one of the league’s most potent attacking forces.
Last season, Acheampong netted an impressive 14 goals and contributed three assists, cementing his reputation as a decisive player in the final third. His performances were central to Henan FC’s run to the Chinese FA Cup final, where they ultimately fell 3-0 to league champions Beijing Guoan.
Despite Henan FC’s efforts to retain him with a new contract, the 2015 African Cup of Nations finalist opted for a fresh challenge with Dalian Yingbo Haifa.
Acheampong’s career has seen him traverse Europe and Asia, with a notable spell at RSC Anderlecht in Belgium, where he first showcased the skill, pace, and versatility that have defined his playing style. His move to Dalian represents both a continuation of his impact in the Chinese Super League and a statement of intent from his new club, eager to bolster their attacking options ahead of the campaign.
For Dalian Yingbo Haifa, adding Acheampong provides not only a reliable scorer but also a player with experience in high-pressure matches, including domestic finals and international competitions.
