Egypt’s Al Masry SC has been drawn against Algerian giants CR Belouizdad in a high-stakes North African derby following the CAF Confederation Cup quarter-final draw held on February 17, 2026.
The ceremony mapped out a challenging path for the Port Said-based club as they seek their first continental title.
Al Masry entered the knockout stage after a dramatic finish in Group D, securing the runner-up spot on goal difference ahead of South Africa’s Kaizer Chiefs.
Meanwhile, CR Belouizdad, led by coach Sead Ramović, arrives in the quarter-finals as one of the tournament’s most dominant forces, having topped Group C with an impressive record of five wins and only one defeat.
The upcoming two-legged tie is scheduled to begin with the first leg between March 13 and 15, 2026, with the decisive return leg following a week later from March 20 to 22, 2026.
This matchup renews the historic football rivalry between Egypt and Algeria, often characterized by intense atmospheres and tactical discipline.
Beyond the quarter-finals, the draw also established the bracket for the final four; the winner of this clash will advance to a semi-final against either Congo’s AS Otôho or Egyptian powerhouse Zamalek SC.
This creates the possibility of an all-Egyptian semi-final should both Al Masry and Zamalek overcome their respective opponents.
With six of the eight remaining teams hailing from North Africa, the competition is entering its most grueling phase as clubs vie for a place in the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup final.
