Barcelona are actively monitoring Jesse Bisiwu, the 18-year-old winger currently at Club Brugge, as part of their strategy to secure young talent capable of strengthening the reserve side and, potentially, the first team in the coming years.
The Catalan giants have had the Belgian forward under close observation, and his agent, Mobindi Marthi, has now confirmed there have been “official communications” with several top clubs, including Barça.
Bisiwu, who is of Ghanaian descent, has emerged as one of Europe’s most promising young wingers. His technical skill, pace, and versatility on either flank have drawn attention from scouts across the continent.
“It’s true that Barcelona are closely following Jesse and are one of the clubs actively tracking his situation. However, we are managing everything calmly, step by step,” Marthi told Eram News.
He added: “Given the player’s talent, it’s completely normal for there to be official communications with several clubs, including major sides like Barcelona.”
The Catalan club’s interest was reinforced by a recent scouting trip to Belgium by Deco and João Amaral, Barcelona’s head of scouting for the region.
Their visit brought Bisiwu back into the spotlight internally, highlighting his potential to join the Blaugrana in the future. While highly regarded, he is not currently considered for the winter transfer window, with his focus remaining on long-term development.
Bisiwu is contracted to Club Brugge until 2027, but sources close to the player indicate his top ambition is a move to Barcelona. His social media activity, including photos of him in a Barça jersey, has fueled speculation that the youngster already harbours strong allegiances to the Spanish giants.
With his combination of youth, talent, and ambition, Bisiwu represents precisely the type of prospect Barcelona are keen to integrate into their system.
