Amine Gouiri insists Marseille remain capable of achieving their objectives this season despite a late 2-2 draw with Strasbourg in Ligue 1.
The Algerian international spoke after Olympique de Marseille conceded in the closing minutes against RC Strasbourg Alsace on Saturday, extending a difficult run of results for the club.
Marseille had been on course for victory before allowing the equaliser late in the game, leaving players and supporters frustrated.
Yet striker Amine Gouiri said the squad still believes its targets remain within reach.
“I am confident. We have a very good team. We are 4th, not far from the podium. We are also in the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France. We have to hold our own in our matches until the end. We are still in the running, we will do everything to go and get the Champions League and win this Cup ,” the Algerian said in the mixed zone.
The result leaves Marseille fourth in the standings, two points behind Olympique Lyonnais in third place, keeping qualification hopes tightly contested near the top of the table.
Despite the club’s current difficulties, Gouiri emphasised the importance of consistency over the remaining fixtures.

The forward highlighted both league ambitions and progress in the domestic cup as reasons for optimism.
Marseille’s position keeps them close to the Champions League places, while their presence in the Coupe de France quarter-finals offers another route to silverware before the end of the campaign.
The late draw against Strasbourg therefore represents a setback rather than a decisive blow.
With several matches still to play, the team continues to rely on collective effort to maintain pressure on their direct rivals and finish the season strongly.
