Ahmed Musa has dismissed reports linking him with a move to Kazakhstan, insisting he remains focused on his role at Kano Pillars F.C. as speculation over his future gathers pace.
The former Nigeria captain, who is both a player and president at Kano Pillars, had been the subject of rumours suggesting that Kazakh side FC Kaysar were interested in signing him.
The reports claimed the striker could reunite with ex-teammate Victor Moses, who recently joined the club on a free transfer.
Musa, however, has firmly rejected the claims, describing them as inaccurate. Speaking to Footy-Africa, he said:
“I am completely unaware of this news.”
The 33-year-old’s response comes amid growing online speculation about a possible overseas switch.
Musa’s statement makes clear he has no knowledge of negotiations or interest from Kazakhstan, effectively shutting down talk of an imminent transfer.
Instead, his attention remains on Kano Pillars and their domestic campaign.
The club are currently positioned near the lower end of the Nigerian top flight table, with Musa tasked not only with contributing on the pitch but also helping guide the team in his executive capacity.
Having returned to Kano Pillars in a leadership role, Musa has been seen as a central figure in the club’s efforts to stabilise performances and maintain their place in the league.
His dual responsibility adds weight to his insistence that his priorities lie firmly at home.
While transfer rumours are common for high-profile players, Musa’s brief but direct denial signals there is no planned departure at this stage.
For Kano Pillars, retaining an experienced figure with international pedigree could prove crucial as they attempt to steer clear of relegation concerns.
